Body clock. How to make weight loss efforts more effective.
As you probably know psychologists divide all of us into larks and owls according to our biorhythms and prevailing tendencies of our body clock. Larks are generally early-to-bed, early-to-rise types and owls are late-to-bed, late-to-rise types. Larks easily get up in the morning. From 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. their body activity is at its peak. Larks usually feel the best before midday and up to about 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. But later their liveliness gradually goes down. At the same time owls start feeling more and more energetic and prolific. Their activity time lasts up to midnight or even later. There are some people able to adapt to both day rhythms.
If you want to lose weight it would be useful to take you psychological type into account when making your weight loss program. Let's try to bring meals, exercises and weight loss pills intake with your circadian rhythm.
If you are a lark
Start your morning with nutritious carbohydrate and protein breakfast. A bowl of porridge or muesli with yogurt will be great! But if you plan to have weight loss exercises at 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. have a glass of fresh juice with a piece of grain bread and 2 hours after sports activities get a hearty meal. Lunch is the best at midday. It should be highly nutritious as well. Try to have your last meal before 6 p.m. or 7 p.m.
Morning fitness is the best for you. It can be as active and intensive as you like. If you have to do weight loss exercises in the evening give preference to yoga, Pilates or swimming.
Take weight loss pills daily dosage before 7 p.m. when metabolism process is most active. Specialists say that drugs work better at some times of day (for you it's from early morning to 7 p.m.), and cause more unwanted side effects at others.
If you are an owl
You should do absolutely vice versa. Your digestion system gets more active quite late. So if you go to work in the morning have light morning meal. A glass of milk or a fruit salad will be enough. But it would be good to have something like a bowl of porridge or a sandwich 2 or 3 hours later. Your lunch can start at about 2 o'clock and be also light. May be it will be a salad and some soup or a piece of meat without garnish. As for supper, you can have a hearty meal. The rule not to eat after 6 p.m. isn't for you. Larks risk to gain much more weight than you eating after 6 p.m. Your appetite increases in the evening and you may wish to have much food because your digestive system is at its peak of activity.
Take active exercises like dancing, aerobics, fighting etc after midday. If you can train in the morning choose yoga or swimming. Weight loss pills will be also effective after midday.
